Shakespeare in the Barn Program:
OrangeMite Studios is the only arts organization of its kind in the area; not only because it consistently produces original works, but because of its commitment to bringing high-quality performances of all of Shakespeare’s works alive. OrangeMite produces Shakespeare’s plays in their pure, unmodified form during the spring. The plays are performed in our intimate version of The Globe, simply known as “The Barn”. The beautiful wooden architecture of this venue envelopes the audience, and takes them to another place and time. A trap door, a balcony, ladders, and several different doors, each with their own purpose, enhance an already spectacular theatre experience.

However, at OrangeMite Studios, Shakespeare’s works are also adapted to give the audience a different experience. These adaptations are always original and written by local playwrights who study the bard. Currently OrangeMite is producing two Shakespeare plays yearly, an original play in the spring and the adaptation in the fall.
