A class called “Close Encounters of the Instrumental Kind” is being offered to students who are preparing to begin instrumental lesson during the 2013-14 school year. This is a great opportunity to for students who may be interested in learning to play a band instrument, but aren’t sure which instrument to choose (flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, snare drum). This class is a perfect opportunity to try-out the instruments before making the final choice in the fall when school begins. The class will be held over the summer on Wednesdays – June 12, 19, 26 and July 10, 17, 24. The class will run from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Weigelstown Elementary School (in the Music Room) 3205 Carlisle Road, Dover.
Cost of the class is $150.00 per child for the 6 – 45 minute classes which would include the use of the instruments that we will be covering. We need at least 5 students for the class to run. However, there is a cap of 10 students due to the number of instruments provided. Instruments will be provided by Menchey Music, a partner in music education. Please email the instructor, Mr. Patrick Ishler, at pishler@doversd.org if interested in enrolling your child.
